People are drawn to it because of the mystery that it is. They are confused by it because many of the things talked about in the book have not yet happened. There is value in studying it because the book itself says you will be blessed by studying it. I believe you also get a better understanding of the holiness of God as you see some of the imagery laid out by John in his description of God.

People want to know what is going to happen, that is human nature. We do not want to be patient. Though reading the book of revelations, I am sure, confuses people more than clarifies the end times for them. We need to know what God says will happen in the end times, so that we can spiritually prepare ourselves, our families and others to be ready when then anti-Christ comes, and to repent and turn to God.

There are lots of different things that people don’t know if they should take literally or if they are figurative. We should study it because it says to, there is a blessing for doing it, and it helps us understand the God we love and prepare for the end times.
