Christian Learning Center Forums Discussion Forum How would you prioritize the three reasons given in this lesson for studying the Bible for yourself: “It is essential to knowing and loving God;” “It is essential for growing up in God;” and “It is essential to serving God”? What is the basis for how you prioritize them? Are any of the three reasons more or less important for you than the others? Do you have other reasons than these?

    Knowing, Growing, Serving.

I believe in order for you to be grown, you have to be known. So known is first, then grown. Serving to me just naturally comes with being known and growing.

    1 Knowing and Loving

    2 Growing

    3 Serving

We have to Know and Love before we can grow much less effectively serve.

First would be knowing and loving God, then growing up in God, and serving God can go hand-in-hand. Before we can grow and reliably serve God, we should seek to know and love who he is. Yet, all are equally as important.

They seem to me to be joined together; growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus involves all three consistently

    1. Knowing and Loving God.

    2. Growing up in God

    3. Serving God.

I think #1 gets us started in abiding and experiencing God. All 3 are part of experiencing God. So many people fall away after a short time because they have not truly experienced God to the fullest. The other reason is that it is very important to learn to recognize God at work and then learn to respond (part of growing up and serving).
