Why can Jesus not simply be a guru or yogi, as Eastern religions define these words?

Jesus didn’t teach like a guru: theology, prayer, emphasis on history and more and Jesus was monotheist.

Based on the mere fact that Jesus was ressurected proved that He was more than any simple man could be.

A guru claims God is everything and we can find God within ourselves. He also claims Jesus found God within Himself so He teaches us to do the same. The Epistles do not teach this. Jesus was a monotheist and believed God was distinct from the world. He fulfilled prophesy which you do not find in Hinduism, Buddhism or Daoism.

By definition, a guru is merely one who gives advice or imparts initiation or wisdom. Gurus and yogis also believe that each individual is a god. Jesus was far more that that. He not only imparted initiation, but actually acted on His own advice first, setting the example. He also taught that there is only one God, and we, as humans, are NOT Him. He taught that God is distinct from this world, from ourselves.

Jesus is not simply a guru or a yogi because he is God. Father God sent Jesus to die for us. And when we accept him in our live the Holy spirit lives within us. This creates the trinity. Christianity is a monothesitc religion that believes in the trinity. When Jesus is part of that he is not just a “teacher” he is God.
