Why can Jesus not simply be a guru or yogi, as Eastern religions define these words?

Because, being God in the flesh, He is the One True Living God (“monotheistic”). Jesus’ teachings, His words, His works, His miracles place Him, His life, His death, His burial, His resurrection far and above anything the false, Eastern religions try to claim. For, He alone, IS the Most High God, the “I AM.” Period.

Because he is The Son of God. He is not just a good man or a teacher, but was and is God.

Jesus is more than a great teacher/mentor. For Jesus personified the attributes of God (forgave sins, control, natures, control demons etc…) And He transcends (beyond) time.

He could not have been a guru because He is monotheistic. He is all knowing and infinite. We are separated from God by sin from the fall, but he is a personal God who offers reconciliation and redemption through the cross.

A guru or yogi cannot remove our sin. Only Jesus, the Son of God can do that. He is the only mediator between God and man.
