Pride which led him to rebel against God. He wanted to be God. This is a great example of the world today. People even refer to themselves as “gods” today.

He chose to rebel against God. We all have free will we are not forced to worship God. The desire for power can corrupt and this is the ultimate example of the desire for power and its consequences, complete separation from God.

He rebelled against God. Satan wouldn’t submit to God because his pride wouldn’t let him. Satan became a fallen angel when he was cast from heaven.

Because he rebelled against God by wanting to ascend to His throne. Because pride was found in his heart and he wanted to take God’s place he was cast out of heaven and lost his role as the most powerful of all angels. Satan hates God and is attacking the pinnacle of God’s creation man, by causing man to rebel against God and prohibit them bringing God glory. Satan wants to destroy all that God has made so he is attacking humans and creation.
