If the “Four Noble Truths” are followed, including the “Noble Eightfold Path” steps, they help minimize life’s inevitable pain. They help Buddhists to avoid negative desires and behavior and focus on good living more focused on helping others.

It also helps them to overlook their own darker side and focus on right living that often mimics or mirrors Biblical concepts.

The Four Noble Truths teach that our desires are the cause for our pain and suffering, so in order to eliminate this pain, we must overcome our desires. This helps people to cope with their pain because it gives hope that they can eventually become free from pain.
