    The Four Noble Truths are a contingency plan for dealing with the suffering humanity faces. The First Truth identifies the presence of suffering. The Second Truth seeks to determine the cause of suffering. The Third and Fourth Truth find a solution to the sufferings. Many Buddhists believe that they have become better or avoid personal pain by adhering to the “Four Noble Truths.”
