Why do you think it is important to know more about world religions?

The more we know about others and their lifestyles and beliefs, the more we know about ourselves. Knowing these things helps us to become stronger in our faith and more understanding of others. It is important for me to be able to discuss things with others respectfully and with a listening ear, maintaining a friend but never compromising my faith.

It would help us to understand why people act the way they do. Each religion influences a country’s culture. For instance, here we know when a household is Hindu because of the flags on their property. It helps us to respect their religious practices, even if we don’t agree with them.

To become better able to understand other faiths and engage their adherents with the gospel of Jesus. To know more about the rich tapestry of cultures God has allowed to flourish and develop among humankind.
