Why do you think it is important to know more about world religions?

The understanding of world religions bring fore the understanding the influences on people from different cultural background, enable easier acceptances and it is the platform for building genuine and respectful relationship.

In knowing more about other religions, I can see why my beliefs are both sacred and how they differ from others. Also, it will give me a better understanding of those differences and how to approach others with why I believe what the Bible teaches.

Everyone should have, at least, a basic knowledge of religion around the world. If someone wants to communicate with another individual, a common element must be found, religion can be that factor. In my 7th and 8th grade History courses we use religion as a way to understand the cultures of each country. Why does a community act or operate as they do? Is there more than one belief system occurring in that area? How do they react to outside influences? Understanding an individual’s/groups’ faith, helps the outsider looking to understand and find the answers.

I think knowledge is the key to understanding in addition to finding them all fascinating.
