Why do you think Jesus indicated that we shouldn’t “broadcast” when we are fasting to others?

When we are fasting Jesus does not want us to broadcast it for other’s to know or see. Jesus does not want our fasting to be focused on us and a look at me look at what I am doing mentality.

Because fasting is a thing between you and God, and not between you and others. It is not for show, but for your relationship with Him.

I believe that fasting an individual relationship with God and it is a commandment of God therefor our obedience to God is very important and should not be publicized in order to gain attention.

Only God rewards our prayer in our inner closet.

Prayer is meant to be between me and my Heavenly Father. Therefore its imperative that I get alone with Him each every day.
