It matters because the Bible encompasses all truth, and if we don’t get who Jesus Christ is correct, how else will we compromise truth? As a Christian educator, it is important that we know who Christ is so we can represent him accurately in the classroom and have biblical answers to questions our students might have. Because Jesus Christ is the son of God, and because of what we know by John 3:16, we are able to guide our students toward truth and possibly even toward salvation. It matters what we believe because we don’t want to lead our students astray or allow them to be led astray by others. We need to give them a firm account of who he is and how he relates to every educational subject so that there are no doubts.

If we don’t know who Christ is and if we don’t have a personal relationship with him, then how can we have a Biblical worldview and how can we have Biblical integration?

If as a Christian educator, I am expressing things I do not believe the students will know. You can not be false or a hypocrite and then expect to be taken seriously as an authority figure and so to be listened to about what is important. You must be sure of your beliefs or the students will know. They will call you out and show you your faults and your lack of belief.

My beliefs about Jesus Christ will impact how I interact with my students. I will pass on to my students my beliefs and will challenge their beliefs that are contrary to Scripture. Knowing that Jesus is the Son of God, Creator, and our Redemption will give a foundation to my knowledge, teaching and dialogue with my students.
