It is important because we are speaking God’s words and truth to students. We have to believe in what we are teaching.

If we profess to be a Christian educator but don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, then we are hypocrites who shouldn’t be teaching students in a Christian school. To be called a Christian educator is to conclude that the teacher has repented and submitted their life to Christ, so that when they step into the classroom they are representing a biblical worldview in every way that they teach.

Belief in Jesus Christ is the foundation of my biblical worldview. Without that foundation, the rest of the worldview would come into question. It would be difficult to negotiate a worldview without Christ at the center. This confusion in worldview would impact how I respond to the students and how I integrate my worldview into my curriculum and how my worldview is shown through my actions.

At the most basic level, if you don’t believe that Jesus is the savior then you won’t translate the correct views and truths to your students. If you don’t believe the correct things about Jesus then your Christian faith begins to crumble. Christian education hinges on your beliefs of Jesus Christ and the trinity.

It matters because we are to teaching the bible! We have to be passionate and on fire for Jesus!
