Because that is the only question that matters for your eternity. It will also shape your worldview.

If you believe something incorrect about Jesus, it will come out of your mouth. We are responsible for what we teach these students. Biblically speaking, it is better to tie a millstone around my neck and throw myself into the sea rather than cause one of these little ones to stumble.

Our beliefs will be evident in our classroom by the things we say and how we act. Students are observant and will infer your beliefs. As teachers we strive to be positive role models for our students and are one of the influences in their lives.

How can I call myself a Christian if I do not embrace the claims of Jesus? I love being a Christian educator because I love Christ. When a child has a problem, I am not the answer, Jesus is!

It matters because God has given us the responsibility to teach students the truth about Him and His son Jesus. Without accurately knowing who Jesus is and all He does for us, we are unable to teach them the truth and help shape them into Christ-like young men and women.
