A time of prayer and reflection and a resolve to love God and others are necessary to set the course of honoring God at the center of your life and bring glory to his name. According to Colossians 4:2 -Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. Thankfulness is a way of having a reflective look of things and a resolve of love is to recognize that God is love and to know love is to know God. All are necessary in setting the course for a life that honors God. According to the text it is important to Bring glory to God with your life, being mindful of the time he has granted you and really taking a reflective inventory of how you are living daily and moment by moment.

We need to have a clear focus and dedication to live for God. Otherwise, we will be too easily sidetracked by things in this world and be influenced by its values that we will drift away from God’s path.

It has to start with God. We have to engage God first before we can go out into the world and live a God honoring life. We have to continually go to Him in prayer, evaluate ourselves, and ask Him to help us live a life that honors him. Refreshing ourselves with time with Him and His word will continue to shift our focus on Him and off of ourselves.

It allows us an opportunity to grow in Christ and have an effective testimony.

We cannot discern what God is saying to us, how He is directing us and how we can honor Him without ongoing and consistent prayer, reflection and submission to His will and plan for our lives
