Why is dependence on God in prayer so important?

God wants us to come to Him with our needs. He wants us to live lives that are dependent on Him in prayer; He wants us to come to Him in the raw and everyday moments of life.

God knows what is best for us. Through prayer we have hope and we practice faith. God always answers, we just need to be patient and wait to see his glory revealed

Because he already knows our needs before we even ask. And he wants a deeper and more meaningful relationship with him.

Prayer brings hope. There are probably several variation of the following, but this is my version. We can live 5 weeks without food, 5 days without water, 5 minutes without air, and 5 seconds without hope. It might not be physically or psychologically accurate, but the trend is there.

To show the devil that he no longer has no control over you and to learn that we can do nothing in our own strength but by the grace of God.
