Why is dependence on God in prayer so important?

When we pray to God we make it about Him and not us.

Because He is the Almighty God and our gracious Abba. He is God; I’m not.
He is both able and willing to help me. -
God is the one who is controlling everything. He knows what we have done and what we will do. We must pray to him so that we don’t try to control our own lives because that won’t work….

In the same way that Jesus said “unless you turn and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matt 18:3 CSB), we need to be like children that rely on their Father for their daily support and sustenance.

Depending on God in prayer is an act of trust. It is being like a child- counting on our Father to do what we cannot do.
