Why is discipleship an essential part of Christian education?

Discipleship is important because you are passing down our faith to the next generation. It is important that the students know what has come before them. Students should be imprinted with the mentoring of teachers who care for them.

Discipleship is essential to Christian education because as teachers our jobs are to bring our students closer to Christ. We provide the knowledge that is necessary to grow in their faith and develop spiritual formation.

Discipleship is important because we want people to become fully committed followers of Christ. Discipleship helps believers to grow in their faith, to grow in maturity and wisdom, and build their faith on a strong foundation so that they can then disciple and lead others towards Christ.

Discipleship is important because you are passing the baton to the next generation and allowing them to run with the knowledge you have learned through your experiences.

We are mentoring them as fellow believes and followers of Christ. If we model for them how to handle difficult and/or everyday problems of life then they will know to handle them themselves when the time comes.
