Discipleship is an essential part of Christian education because we are teaching and showing students that they are being the hands and feet of Jesus.

It is essential because it teaches students to be the hands and feet of Jesus. They are able to minister to their peers and learn to be helpful.

The Great Commission is not bound to the pastor only. Every believer is under that mandate, and as Christian educators, we of all people should be doing that well in our classrooms.

We must teach discipleship because we are trying to show the kids how to be disciples of Christ

I feel like that is the whole point. Leading students to Jesus, and giving them a good example of how to live.
