As educators we are giving our students more that an education in the three R’s. We are giving them a foundation on how to live their whole lives in the way God intended. We can’t give the students that foundation if our own teaching is not grounded in a Christian philosophy.

We need to ground our students in the Bible and the values that God, the creator of the universe has set forth for us.

We must know what we believe as foundational truth in order to build an environment and curriculum to empower our students for life. This is not just about learning facts, but about how to live life as a Christ follower.

As a Christian, our life revolves around how we can make Christ known. As an educator, we teach. A Christian philosophy of education helps us put these two things together. We are not simply educators; we are Christian educators. Our whole thinking in and purpose for teaching is to make Christ known. Our philosophy should also reflect that.

Christian educators must have a Christian philosophy of education because we are helping parents train the next generation of believers. We need to make sure we are thinking correctly so we pass down the truth to our students.
