It is important for Christian educators to have a Christian Philosophy of Education so that we can impart a Christian worldview. We cannot give that which we do not possess. The Christian Philosophy allows us to teach our subject matter from a biblical worldview to our students.

It is imperative that Christian educators have a Christian philosophy so that we can be properly ready for any situation that might occur in our daily classroom. By being prepared, we can also talk to students more about God and Christ. When we teach students this at a young age, they will grasp onto it so they will “not depart” from God. If they do, they will have the skills to come back.

If we go into education with a secular view of education, either we are being intellectually dishonest or we are not reaching our potential. We could only partially teach from a secular worldview because it should be foreign to us. The two don’t align, they have different starting points, different goals, and different ways of viewing human beings. Everything education is based on is different.

The most important reason we need to have a Christian philosophy is to have the why behind why and what we are instilling into our students. As a Christian everything I do should be done through and with the lense of Jesus.
