Is is imperative that Christian educators have a Christian philosophy of education to stand firm on out beliefs that God created on his image and to pass the love of wisdom to our students and the worldwide. Furthermore, to educate our pass the knowledge, values and truth of the biblical scriptures and God.

A Christian philosophy of education is like a lighthouse in a foggy cove. The world can offer various alluring things, without knowing Jesus and God’s truths, one can quickly and easily blow in the wind, ending up in the wrong spot. As we are asked to bring children up in the way they should go, we want to follow biblical truths to guide our students.

Teachers teach through the philosophical lens that they predicate their personal understanding of their being, purpose, and mission on. For example, if a teacher believes that they evolved, they do not teach creation with credibility nor are they able to back up creation with any substantive material from credible sources such as CMI or the Creation Institute. They are not able to teach how a Christian should look at the world or interpret events around them in a Biblical manner.

There are 3 creation theories accepted by Christians, (Theistic Evolution, Old Earth Creationism, and Young Earth Creationism) including two that don’t align with the young earth perspective 🙂

Because your philosophy is going to effect every aspect of the way you teach and lead. Including the way that you engage the students and respond to them.

We have to have a foundation in the Bible. A philosophy allows us to be deliberate. It helps us to have a plan as a school as to what our philosophy is that will be used in our school.
