Children are critical individuals, and I have to admit that I was at times thrown away by their questions and left me wondering on how to best answer these inquiries. A short answer may not satisfy their need for curiosity and thus it is important to engage them into discussions and explain how we come up with these answers. This is one of the reason why I joined this program, so I could learn more about the Biblical foundations and integration in the curriculum. As Christian educators we have the responsibilities to guide the students to a deeper understanding of this world so they can live their lives according to God’s will.

All of these questions are designed to shape our worldview. By looking at these questions with a biblical mindset, we build a worldview based on God’s truths instead of what we feel is true. As Christians our biblical worldview must permeate every part of our lives. My high school students and I discuss integrity often. I tell them “who I am at school is who I am at home and who I am at church.” My Christ-centered worldview is every part of me, and that carries over into my educational philosophy.

Students will look to us for answers. We need to make sure we find the truth of these answers in God’s Holy Word.

If we do not have an answer how can we help another find the answer. In Matthew 15:14 it says to leave blind guides because when the blind lead the blind they both fall into a ditch. When we have a personal understanding of the questions asked, through a Biblical worldview, we can have the confidence that our answers to the questions will help the student find God in a more personal way.

Christian educators need to have a firm understanding of their own beliefs in order to share with students. With those firm understandings, educators can then help students form their own understandings of the 3 concepts.
