To make the students to know more of God, creative in thinking, build their academic skills and develop their faith in God.

It is important for the Christian educator to know solid, truthful, and well-thought-out answers to all of the questions students might ask us about metaphysics, epistemology, and axiology because we must lead our students to truth, to know and love God, and educate them for eternity. If we stumble or fail to have a solid understanding of Christian apologetics we may fail in our mission and duty to lead them to Christ, to train them up in the way they should go, and to ensure that they are on the road to eternal salvation. These matters are very serious, and we must be equipped to always win arguments and challenges by students who are, sadly, badly misinformed by our broken, fallen, and toxic culture that they encounter in media, online, from other students, and especially when they are allowed to roam online without supervision! We may be the only source of well-informed argument for God’s own truths.

We need to be ready to meet that challenge and win souls for Christ, every day, at any moment we are called upon to do so. It is part of our sacred responsibility as Christian educators. The enemy is very persuasive. We must train our students to resist the manipulations of their minds. This is critical.

It’s important for us to know our own answers to these questions so that we do not falter when our students ask us. They look to us for guidance in everything and we must be able to help answer their questions.

It’s important because our students have the same questions and can often have questions around faith when ‘bad things’ happen in their lives. They can also struggle with feelings of inadequacy, especially in middle school. Knowing the answers to these questions with scripture, making sure each student understands their value, and giving the glory of our existence to God can help them overcome any existential crisis that may come their way as they navigate the world.

So that the teacher is not stumped when trying to answer. Critics will say that we don’t have answers for these things, but it helps their case when we don’t have those answers ready. We have to be ready with Scripture to help students sift through the noise out there.
