We can’t guide students in finding the answers to the “big questions” of life if we don’t know them ourselves. Scripture is the source of those answers.

It’s how we can grow in God. We need to grow so we can be examples for our students.

It is important that Christian educators know and continue to study scripture, so that they can impart their own wisdom to students, their families and others in their life circles. At various times in life, I have read a scripture that I may have learned as a child and what it means as an adult may be vastly different. Studying scripture is how we learn about the character of God and solidifies our relationship with Him. Scripture offers answers, insight and guidance to virtually every life situation that we face. When we can be confident in our knowledge of scripture, it makes it easier to infuse into our curriculum and speak about it or know where to find something when a student needs it.
