Why is it important that Christian educators know and continue to study Scripture?

Christian educators are to model a Christian lifestyle and teach from a biblical worldview.

Well, for one thing, the kids will know more about the Scripture than I. I was not raised with Scripture, and cannot rattle off things that even 4th graders can, sometimes I can be embarrassed by my lack or their prowess in it. Secondly, how will I hear what direction the Lord is leading if I am not seeking his guidance. And thirdly, I would not want to teach errantly …. it is too great a responsibility.

Scripture is the reference point to the Truth. Without studying Scripture, Christian educators are not reading God’s Word, which is basically blocking the Truth.

It is important that Christian educators know and continue to study scripture because it is the foundation of what we teach. It is also good to know so we can share with our students at any given notice.
