The word of God is likened to the manna in the wilderness. It is our daily bread, our sustenance. We cannot just live off of yesterday’s meal. We need a fresh portion, a fresh revelation, for today’s situations and needs. 2 Timothy 4:2 says, “Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction.”

It is important for Christian educators to know and continuously study Scripture so we can continue growing in our faith, relationship with Christ, and as Christian educators. Our faith and relationship with Christ carry over into our teaching, and we want to model and show Christ to our students. We learn about Christ and how to apply His teachings through Scripture. As we continue in our career, the same Scripture may be brought to our attention again for a different reason from the first time we read it.
