We should always be learning. We must continue to study Scripture so that we can grow spiritually with the wisdom from God’s word. As educators, we will need to be able to talk with the students about God’s word and about how they are created in the image of God

Knowing the word of God is like feeding every day, it nourishes you spiritually and prepares you each day. God speaks to me through His word. As a Christian educator, it is important to know the mind of Christ and what God wants us to do. The best place to draw strength and knowledge is through studying the word of God.

Firstly, because we need to be transformed just as much as our students. We are never finished putting the flesh to death. Secondly, you will not stay spiritually minded or in tune with the Spirit if we are not in God’s Word regularly. We will miss many blessings of fellowship and many opportunities if we are not studying God’s Word.

It is important to know and study scripture so we can share it with our students but to also be able to tie it into our teaching. We need to know where the real truth comes from and how we can apply that in an educational setting.

I know as a prayer leader that I have had other prayer leaders in our group that have more knowledge and memorizing more verses than I have. But over the years we have grown together. When we pray for others and also use scripture that flows from our mouth encourages those who need to hear that verse in that moment. I know when I pray for someone, it is not planned. But the more I learn the more it makes praying easier. We need to build up and encourage others going in our direction. More we learn about the bible, the more we can flow the word on to others to be planted as they plant on to others the love of Christ.
