Why is it important that we teach our students strategies for discernment?

We live in a culture that is strategically and intentionally working to draw our students into a worldview that does not align with Scripture. The responsibility to equip them to discern truth from falsehood is imperative as they aim to live in the world while not being of the world.

Students today are bombarded with media and voices. It is important for them to learn discernment so they can evaluate what information they are being confronted with and compare that to their Biblical worldview.

This is valuable to students because in today’s world, the reality of truth is becoming more and more foggy as our world becomes more and more constructivist in its worldview approach.

This is so that students will be equipped to make decisions that indicate a Christian worldview.

We only have our students for a short time. We have to prepare them to be able to go out into the world, but not be of the world. We do not want our students to pull away from God, but to grow closer to Him as they mature and grow older.
