Why is it important that we teach our students strategies for discernment?

It’s important because we want them to learn the skill of discernment for themselves and be able to practice it outside of the classroom. The goal is for them to become so adept at discernment, that it is second-nature to them by the time they go off to college or enter the workforce.

Discernment is something they will use continuously in big and small decisions through their life. It’s an important tool to utilize.

They need to learn to think for themselves as they are learning God’s way for their lives.

In order for students to function and thrive in the real world, they need to be able to navigate the world’s mixture of truth and falsehood.

The world and the Enemy are and will continue to be deceiving and manipulating.
