Why is it important that we teach our students strategies for discernment?

Deleted User08/02/2021 at 16:20When students are taught strategies at an early age they will make better choices as they grow up and know the difference between a good or bad decision. Also, they will know the truth and make their own decisions based on that truth no matter what everyone else or media is telling them.

It also helps deepen their faith as they seek answers to the difficult questions about their faith. Lastly, it develops a biblical foundation that allows them to discern what is truthful and good.

Deleted User07/19/2021 at 13:18They need to be equipped to deal with the reality of an unbelieving world. We can’t be afraid to discuss what the world will tell them is true. We need to trust the Holy Spirit to work in their lives as we present those ideas and tell them what the Bible says is true. They will get the answers to their questions in life one way or another. It would be wise of us to share and discuss these things with students while we still have them in a rather protected environment and have their attention to listen to biblical truth.

Deleted User07/18/2021 at 22:02It is important to give them strategies because they will be going out in the world and will face many things that are contrary to the Biblical Worldview. We want them to know how to identify the lies and know the truth.
