It is important to be prepared for attacks on our Christian faith no just from the world in general, but from other Christians as well. One believer’s interpretation of scripture can be different from another, so it is important that we be careful not to judge others, and that we love everyone, and that is what I teach in my course.

Attacks on individuals of faith, as well as faith-based organizations are rising. Preparedness and connections among believers are paramount. There is strength in numbers, knowing who can be supportive of us during times of duress. Sometimes things escalate to the court level and there are those who understand and can assist when the attack is formalized. When it’s informal, among acquaintances, family, or friends/neighbors, our answers should reflect what we know of Scripture as our foundation, and our experiential faithfulness of Christ in difficult times past. He will not fail, and His plan always prevails.

It is important to be prepared for attacks on our Christian faith because the truth of God needs to be proclaimed. Many people have only heard the secular view of things or are used to the traditions of man. However they have probably never heard the truth from the Bible. St. Augustine has a great quote “The truth is like a lion, you don’t have to defend it. Let it loose and it will defend itself.” What this quote inspires me is to remember that God’s word has power and it is full of the Holy Spirit, as Christians our task is to let it loose, to get it out, to proclaim it. But the truth will defend itself. God’s word never falls to the ground in vein it always bears fruit.

It is important to be prepared for attacks so that we do not lash out in our responses or react in anger due to our feelings. We must be prepared to identify the attack and be prepared to use scripture to either help yourself or directly combat the attack with. You must be equipped to discern the best way to defend yourself.
