It is important because we know that attacks will come. Jesus experienced attacks on His faith from Satan, who used Scripture in incomplete and out of context ways, and He was able to counter it because He had spent His life studying the Scriptures and knew how to defend Himself. Likewise we know that all of us who believe will experience spiritual warfare and earthly attacks on our faith, and our students need to be prepared through the study of Scripture to defend their faith.

Attacks are a reality for the believer. Jesus Himself told us to expect trouble, and His words urges us to always be ready to give an answer for the hope that we have.

The devil is always looking to catch us off guard but we want to be prepared to counter those attacks in a biblical way. We need to recognize deceit and worldly attacks on Christian ideas and scripture.
