Because the Bible tell us to ‘beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit’ Thank you for that Bible verse.

The Bible is clear that we will be attacked for our faith, by the enemy, the world, and even our own sinful nature. It would be foolish to expect opposition without preparing a solid defense.

The letters of Paul say that we should be rooted in our Faith and above reproach, prepared to have an answer for anyone who questions us about Christianity. We will be attacked, and we need to respond in a firm but loving way as God directs.

It is important to defend our faith, not only for ourselves, not allowing doubt to enter, but also so that others will hear God’s word in boldness. We need to learn, study, and hide God’s work in our hearts. Watchman Nee, a Chinese Christian who was persecuted for his faith, was not only imprisoned for his faith, but continued to lead prisoners and guards to Christ because he loved God, knew His word, and knew that he would continue to serve Him in the midst of persecution. We will be attacked for our faith, even here in the U.S. It is important to determine now to stand on the word of God.

God tells us we will be attacked for our faith. His word instructs us, therefore, we need to be prepared to give a reason for our beliefs. We must also listen to the Holy Spirit who will lead us to the correct responses when confronted.
