Why is it important to be prepared for attacks on our Christian faith?

“In this world you will have trouble . . .”. Inevitably they come, from within if not without. Their purpose we cannot know for sure each time, but faith in Christ and the faithfulness of Christ to us will not let us slip, and we will be strengthened in the process.

Attacks are inevitably coming, especially with how the world is getting darker every day. It is important to prepare students for what they are going to hear and face as they go out into the world. Allowing them to be prepared and not scared for when the attacks come.

We live in a fallen world and it’s not “if” we will be attacked, but “when.” The Bible says to be prepared to give a reason for the hope that we have. The Bible also says to put on the full armor of God so that we will be able to stand our ground.

It is important to be prepared for attacks on our Christian faith because we know it is coming. We are privileged to live in a country where, officially, we are not persecuted for our faith. We can take for granted our right to attend church and go to Christian schools. The country was founded on religious freedom…a separation of church and state. But even this founding principle is being turned against Christians. Rather than it being protected, we are now being told that we cannot talk about our faith in schools because it might infringe on other’s right not to believe. Today, I believe this concept creates anger in many Christians, and sadly, many “Christians” are acting out in violent and irrational, and certainly un-Christlike ways. If we are prepared to address these attack, we can determine our responses in more kind, peaceful, and Christ-like manners.

It will be important to be prepared for attacks on our Christian faith because they will happen. They will always seem to happen to when things feel like they are going “right” in life and then the devil feels the need to attack us at that point in time.
