To surround yourself with like minded people who can be there to help with your spiritual growth, to aid as accountability partners, to walk with you in faith.

It is important to become involved in a local church because God wants his children to gather together in praising, worship, adoration, and to thank him. The more we gather the more power and breakthrough of power of darkness. Also, to help sharpen the new believers to help them grow in the Lord Christ. We have to encourage each other in the Lord Christ.

We are not meant to be lone-range Christians. It’s important to have other believers to pray with and for you, encourage you, and keep you accountable in your actions and words. The local church offers believers a chance to worship God together with other sisters and brothers in Christ, be challenged in their understanding of who God is, and follow the “one anothers” of the Bible (e.g. encourage one another). We are also called to serve and use our spiritual gifts, and the local church is a great place to do that.

The church is the body of Christ (the universal church Ephesians 1: 22-23). We each are a body part because together we make up the body of Jesus Christ.
