It gives background details of the book you are about to read.

We need to be able to locate it and where we lifted it. Therefore we wouldn’t confuse the process because crucial to understand what the context is saying and how to interpret it properly.

It is always best to understand the context before we attempt to interpret individual scriptures.

Asking Who, What, Where, When, How and Why of the whole book gives the background needed to accurately interpret single passages. If we do not do this we may distort the meaning of the passages.
