We cannot properly observe what is in a particular passage without first observing the big picture of the book it is contained in. If we do not get the big picture first we risk a wrong interpretation of a passage.

Getting an in-depth overview of the book before studying particular passages in the book will help discourage misinterpretation of Scripture.

I think micro-observation is important because you can get an overview of what you ate study studying.

Macro-observation provides the necessary context for a given verse/phrase of a book so you can have an accurate interpretation.

It allows us to read each smaller portion of Scripture in context, which is essential for interpreting it according to the author’s sense.
