Macro-observation is setting the stage before going into the story and getting the full meaning of a passage. We need to understand the whole context to truthfully read the Bible.

The macro-observation acts as a guide as to what to expect as you prepare to get a better understanding. The context, the geographical setting, the writer, audience, culture, customs and so much more information is unearthed, and this helps to keep us from seeing what is not there.
