Because the practical issues address the issues and problems Christians face in their daily lives in our walk as Christians. These epistles give us insight into how to deal with issues that may hinder our growth as Christians.

Without knowing the issue he is addressing we cannot clearly understand why he wrote what he did. It also helps us with addressing the same issues when we see them in todays church.
-
It is important to know the context of who Paul was writing to and why. This helps us understand it and better apply it to our lives today. These Epistles tell us how to live a revolutionary life through The Holy Spirit.

So we can apply its teachings to what is happening in our lives and in the church today.

So we can understand the epistle in context. As we understand the specific reason for the epistle we can make applications to our life and our church.
