As you learn it is important to visualize where along with the when. I teach with Biblical maps to my students.

Geography is very important for many reasons. The first is location. When Jesus was here on earth, he was born in Bethalem. His ministry was based on around Israel.

I’ve always liked looking at historical maps when reading the stories of the Bible. It helps me to put things into perspective. I am always amazed at where Jesus and his disciples, especially Paul, traveled.

Israel is a small region about the size of New Jersey. So much happened in the 2,000 years before Jesus in this region we call Palestine. Jesus came to fulfill the Law and the Prophets (Matt 5:17). Much of what Jesus said and did was directly correlated to where he was or to whom He was speaking. We cannot understand what Jesus meant without understanding this culture and geographical history.

By leaning about Christ ministry geography, a person can visualize where Jesus went to reach out to various peoples.
