I think it helps us understand Jesus’s humanity—that His ministry took place in a certain time and place, that He travelled around and interacted with people in those places. It also shows us that Jesus ministered to certain groups of people including Jews and Gentiles, that He his message and ministry are for all. Finally, it helps us understand how his ministry was largely outside of Jerusalem until the very end.

Because where He ministered is a part of the fulfillment of the prophesies. He came to His own and HIs own did not receive Him.

It helps to visualize he journey, and place Jesus’ ministry in the historical/ geographical context relevant to a sound full understanding of the New Testament, the Gospels, Jesus’ life and ministry, and one’s personal faith.

It gives us a clear visual picture of where Jesus was preforming miracles and where he was ministering to specific people.

Terrain and the types of people and how Jesus would move from town to town knowing their needs.
