First of all, God has given parents the primary responsibility and accountability to raise Godly kids. While each individual is responsible for their own faith, Scripture is clear that the parents are the primary disciplers of their children. It is not up to the church nor a Christian school to raise or disciple a child completely devoid of parental accountability. Scripture speaks to the reality of raising Godly children, and the primary responsibility is with their parents. They need support and help in this endeavor. We get to partner with parents in this and help point their children to Jesus.

It’s important to support parents because they are the ones raising the children. The students are most influenced by their parents, so effect change for Christ through the students, we should help support their parents to do so as well.

Support really is a two-way street that is mutually beneficial to all. To gain the support of parents, we must ensure that we support them. Only then is it possible for the Christian school to be a true extension of the Christian home.

By supporting parents, we are sharing God’s love and working together to shape their children into disciples. Parents have to work to provide for their families, so it is our job to assist them, not take over their role.
