Ultimately it is them who have the authority in their children’s lives.
We are here to support them, and help their kids to succeed both academically, spiritually and emotionally. -
It’s important to have a genuine relationship with all of your student’s parents. When relationships are built, barriers are broken, and growth mindsets flourish.

We do not have the ultimate authority in our students’ lives. The commands for raising children have been given by God to parents.

It is indeed a partnership between parents and school. The parents has entrusted their children in our care thus we as teachers must also carry out this task responsibly. The students are in school only for a couple hours, but they are with their parents for the rest of their lives. When we work together, the children will get the most benefit out of it.

Parents are the primary authority in their child’s life. As a parents of a six-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy, I have been learning firsthand the difficulties parents face. I learn new difficulties with each passing year, too. As a matter of fact, the older my own children get, the more I find myself hurting for my students’ parents. As the primary nurturer and caregiver, we must come alongside the parents with love and grace, giving them whatever they might need to help their child be successful.
