Why is it important to support parents?

Parents have the primary responsibility of educating and discipling their children. We can never replace the parents and must always partner with them for the benefit of the whole family.

When teachers take time to support parents, the parents feel connected to the school and to the education that their student is receiving. It also helps to create a stronger sense of community in which the parent is enthusiastic to support. I know that when I have felt close to a teacher and connected to what they are teaching my student, I am always sharing with people I meet about how caring my children’s school is and how valued we all feel. People don’t care about how much you know until they know how much you care. This is certainly the case for teachers taking time to encourage and get to know the parents.

We are here to partner with the parents to ensure their kids grow up to be the best humans possible. And ultimately, it is the parent who has the final say in what happens with their kids so it will be best to make sure to include them in all decisions and make us a team instead of working against each other.

We need to support parents because Christian education starts within the family, and parents need help/guidance.

It’s important to support parents because the student’s belief system is influenced by parents. In building a healthy relationship student can get the feeling of all invested parties involved all have a common goal to help student achieve success.
