Jesus cared for Children and pointed them out as an example of faith for his disciples and followers. In an effort to emulate Jesus, we should love Children and point them out as people of faith who can relate to God through Jesus. When we see them as spiritual people, it becomes imperative to teach them the word. We have to point them toward Scripture and a life fulfilled in following Jesus. If we do not teach them the importance of the Bible, we cannot expect them to grow into their faith. We have to use God’s Word as the foundation of all teaching so our children and students may grow into Christ likeness.

Although I do not agree with certain methods many churches use (which may cause children to avoid scriptures), I strongly support teaching children the Christian doctrine. As a teacher himself, Christ has given us examples to live by. He has shown us how to teach the scriptures as well.

How can we make decisions and live a life that will please God if we don’t know Scripture? Our lives must be based on it. Thus, it is imperative that children are taught the Scripture as often as possible to ingrain it to their hearts. But it must be taught with grace and love – hitting them over the head with the Bible constantly will only result in them rejecting it. We must be mindful of this.
