It is important to teach Scripture to our students because “learning Scripture means learning about Salvation”… And as stated in 2 Timothy 3:16: “all Scripture is given by God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness.” My role as a Christian educator is to come alongside students and to build their belief system in God’s Word.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

I went to a Christian school. I remember the memorization of the books of the Bible and the many Bible verses. We should teach them because we are told to. We should teach them because they are profitable for doctrine, reproof, and correction. We should also be sure to teach them all!

It is because the scripture is the bedrock of our education and unmovable truth to all generations.

Scripture is God’s Word and God is the ultimate source for truth. In a society where truth is becoming relative to whatever a person feels it is important to ground our students in the ultimate truth of God’s Word.

It is so important to hide God’s words in our hearts. We never know when God is going to put a situation or person in our life that might need to hear God’s words. I can be driving in my car and my patience can be running low, and God can use a verse I have tucked away about being still and abiding in Him. I remember reading about missionaries who were kidnapped in the jungle. They did not have a Bible with them, so they would quote or write down verses they had memorized to keep them focused on their survival.
