Why is it important to teach Scripture to children?

Scripture is our source for the answers to all of life’s questions. It is God’s word and where we can find truth. We need to teach our students to go to the scriptures when they are seeking to find truths and instruction. We need to make it a routine and norm for them to use scripture as a reference for those questions.

God has required that of us – we are all to share, teach, rebuke – we are to be salt and light. It is good to have this as a child when you are more apt to listen.

That they might have a solid foundation and healthy parameters for sound living.
As the lecturer reminded us in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, ALL Scripture is given by inspiration of God – profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto ALL good works.

The Bible is the perfect manual on how to navigate life. Every answer is found there, children need to be able to know where to look for answers.

I tell me son that every time I read the Bible, I understand that portion of the Bible on a deeper level. Giving students the first foundation will help them later in life look at scripture in a meaningful way because it is familiar and they have the knowledge to analyze the text to draw even more depth and meaning as they get older.
