My children grew up going to Awana and served in this program for many years. It is such a wonderful program that I am so thankful for because they created an environment that was fun for kids, but at the same time taught how important scripture memorization was so that we can bury the word of God in our hearts and to always be ready to give an answer for the hope that we have.

We will learn the character and nature of God by being in His word consistently. As children learn the value of Scripture and memorize Scripture, they will be building their belief system and worldview on truth rather than based on society and lies.

We need to help children understand that the Word of God is a light for them that illuminates and clearifies. That it is as Psalm 119:105 says, a light unto our path. Students need to know where to go for answers to life and their spiritual concerns.
