Why is prayer about more than simply requests or answers?

Prayer is about relationship with God — getting to know Him better and trusting in Him more each day. When I think of the unanswered prayers of people from the Bible, I am reminded that despite their requests being unanswered (at least from their/my perspective), they remained faithful to God! They lived and died trusting God because their relationship with Him was so intimate, and they knew He could fully be trusted despite unanswered prayers. If our prayers are only about requests and answers, then we will never be satisfied because there will always be requests and disappointments when those requests are not answered. But if our prayers are about deepening our relationship with God, then we will present requests but trust and accept His responses to our prayers — whether they are answered or not.

Because it should be I time to spiritually reconnect with God, also. God wants too here from all of us, and through pray he stays connected.

Before I pray, I need to trust that person, know that he will be available and listen , and all that requires a relationship. Praying is fellowship and enjoying God’s presence before anything else and presenting our requests is a bonus, a gift.

Its the privilege of having a relationship the the Almighty God. Even if we perceive it as unanswered prayer , our assurance should be he know best and his best for us will prevail.
