Why is prayer about more than simply requests or answers?

Prayer is about more than simply requests or answers. Prayer is how we experience a relationship with God. Spending time with Him leads us to know Him. The more we know Him, the more we trust Him. Trust is crucial to prioritizing His will over our own. When troubles come we can trust that He is working things out, that He loves us and that His grace is sufficient.

There is so much more to do than ask questions or listen for answers. We can worship and glorify God as we pray, we can recall the works He has done in our lives, and we can lift up the needs of others on their behalf.

It is truly about our relationship with God and seeing God’s hand and heart in our lives. We need to look to what God is teaching us, showing us, and that God believes in us.

It is a two way conversation which requires listening on our part.

My prayers represent my conversation with God, in His throne room. It’s a relationship that strengthens with increased dependency, on my part. Greater dependency begets greater intimacy with God, understanding His heart and desiring His will and His way above all else. (Jere 33:1-3). And, intimacy with God is a matchless gift regardless of how He chooses to answer.
